Benders who have lost their bending would still be able to have children with the abilities. Even after Aang permanently took away Yakone’s bending, Noatak and Tarrlok, who were born three or so years later, could still Waterbend and Bloodbend. Confused.

Well, his mother could’ve possibly been a waterbender but yeah Amon didn’t think this part through very well. :X

And Katara’s parents were both nonbenders too.
